The School of Basic and Remedial Studies, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, wishes to inform members of the general public that the sale of application forms for the 2022/2023 Academic Session into the School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS), Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina, has begun with immediate effect.
During the 2022/2023 Session, the School will offer the following programs:
Remedial Programs: Remedial Studies (Science, Social Science and Arts)
Programs offered by the IJMBE (Science, Social Science and Arts)
Diploma Programs in Basic Studies
Certificate programs are available.
Program of Immersion (English)
1.0 REMEDIAL PROGRAM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Candidates applying for the Remedial Program must have at least three (3) credits in Science, Arts, and Social Science subjects, as well as any two (2) applicable ‘O’ level passes in the other disciplines offered at the School in not more than two (2) sittings.
Accounting, Civic Education, Commerce, Economics, and Government General Subjects: Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Physics Arabic, French, Hausa, History, Islamic Studies, and Literature in English Accounting, Civic Education, Commerce, Economics, and Government
Language and Mathematics in English
Candidates accepted into the remedial program must register for and pass credit-level WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS exams in the subjects in which they are lacking.
Candidates applying for the Remedial Program must additionally register for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and achieve the University’s minimal pass mark, as well as select Umaru.
