The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) will go on strike on May 16th

With effect from Monday, May 16, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has issued a two-week warning strike.
This was stated in a statement dated May 11, 2022, signed by the union’s president, Anderson Ezeibe.
The decision was made during the 102nd emergency national executive council meeting on Wednesday in Abuja, according to the statement.
The decision became necessary, according to the union, since the government failed to implement the Memorandum of Action (MoA) reached in June 2021, which informed the suspension of the union’s two-month strike at the time.
In April, ASUP set the government a one-month deadline to resolve its concerns, but the administration ignored the warning and continued with political activities as usual, according to ASUP.
